After 2 years of demolition and construction, the two new STLCC Transformed buildings at the Meramec campus are nearly complete.

Per Skye Lufsey, Substantial completion will be reached on Tuesday, June 3. Lufsey explained that this means that most of the construction work will be wrapped other than minor touch-ups.

With that being said, the ball is already rolling when it comes to departments that will be moving in.

“Furniture will start going into the new library at the start of May and will progress to the rest of the buildings’ classrooms, labs, offices, and gathering spaces over the next few weeks,” Lufsey said. “Our IT team will install TVs, computers, teacher stations, and other equipment beginning in mid-May.”

She continued, “Departmental belongings will start moving into the new buildings as early as Monday, May 19. Employees will move in beginning Tuesday, June 3, once the building has reached substantial completion and we have an occupancy permit. It will take several weeks to finish all the moves, but services and departments will be available in the new buildings once they settle into their new spaces, including Academic Success and Tutoring, Testing Center and Enrollment Services.”

Lufsey said to keep an eye out for the signage that will be posted in the coming weeks that identifies who is moving, when they’re moving and where they’re moving.

A formal “Open House” for the new buildings has not yet been finalized, but is expected to take place in the fall. Other projects are set to begin soon, including massive renovations in the Student Center.
