The secret to a healthy diet

Many Americans today unknowingly have a psychological dependency for the food they buy and eat every day.  Added ingredients, highly processed food, and refined sugars all contribute to what we call comfort food.

One reason it may be hard to get rid of these foods is because they are secretly stored within virtually every fast food restaurant and are manufactured from foods we purchase at our grocery stores.

Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), a sodium salt, is used as a flavor enhancer in virtually every fast food chain across America and is known to be very addictive.

John Erb had presented a study to the World Health Organization in 2006 over the toxic effects of MSG.  His test and findings show that MSG is a chemical directly correlated to people being tricked into consuming food more frequently and faster.

Fast food restaurants aren’t the only ones who use MSG in their products. MSG is an active ingredient in foods at the grocery store such as soup, pizza, steak sauces, seasonings and frozen meats.

Since food companies know of America’s bad take on MSG, they often use sneaky code name ingredients such as hydrolyzed soy protein, spices, autolyzed yeast extract and gelatin. MSG is not only linked to obesity, but is a known neurotoxin. Long- and short-term side effects include destroyed brain cells and ADD.

More addictive than MSG is refined carbohydrate sugar. Added sugar is linked to obesity and diabetes, and has a wide range of aging effects.

Sodas, soft drinks and cakes have an immense amount of sugar in them and would be very helpful to the body if they were cut from the diet. The high fructose corn syrup in soda messes with the brain’s leptin signals, making the person want to consume more food.

Some people think that diet soda is healthier than regular soda. Diet soda contains artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, a neurotoxin like MSG, and is known to be addictive. This can actually confuse the brain into consuming more. It is more likely to cause brain damage or liver disease if it is consumed more often than regular soda.

The best way to combat these toxic cravings is to exchange these foods with raw and unprocessed fruits and vegetables. It may be a difficult process, but in the long run, your body won’t see a need for such foods and thank you for the nutrients.
