According to STLCC-Meramec campus police, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., on April 14, a white Chevrolet 3500 Box truck was broken into and the contents of a safe box onboard were stolen.

The truck, which belongs to the vending company Jackson Brothers, was parked on the visitors parking lot along Big Bend Road, which is also a Metro Bus stop.

Campus Police Lt. John Schwerb said the thieves cut the padlock on the back of the truck, lifted up the door, went inside the truck and broke into the safe taking with them 13 white money bags.
Schwerb said that according to a witness, a black, foreign-made SUV with two Middle Eastern males had parked next to the truck. One of the drivers exited the vehicle and walked to the rear of the truck.
No further information was released at the time.
A video camera located near the scene of the crime was temporarily out of service due to a library renovation. However, Campus Police Chief Paul Banta said that there was another camera they are currently gathering information from.
Jessica Johnson, general manager of Jackson Brothers Co. in St. Louis said her company has been victim of similar crimes in the past, but did not wish to make any further comments.
Campus police asks that anyone who saw suspicious activity around the described truck contact them at (314) 984-7667.
